G-Rumpy Bears
About the Bears |
|
|
What are G-Rumpy Bears made of?
Predominantly mohair or alpaca fur fabric in a wide variety of colours and textures.
I never buy large pieces of fabric so whilst my bears are Open Editions
it is unlikely there will be more than eight of any particular bear.
Polyester stuffing with lead/steel shot, glass balls or plastic pellets are used to fill the bears.
Nut and bolt joints are used for the larger bears whilst cotter pin and wobble joints are used for the smaller bears - sometimes a combination of joints are used.
Ultra suede, felt and a variety of other appropriate fabrics are used for the paw pads.
The noses are usually made shiny by a special varnish I like to use.
G-Rumpy Bears usually come with a hand knitted scarf, a bow or a ruffle of ribbon, lace or fabric.
What sizes do the bears come in?
The sizes and shapes of my bears are constantly evolving - even within a particular a edition no two bears will be exactly the same.
The main sizes are:
Big Grumpy 18" usually with a growl [from £125]
Uncle Grumpy 15" can also have a growl [From £95]
Grumpy Boy 13" Lovely big feet [From £85]
Little Grumpy 7½"/8½" Soft jointed, highly tactile [from £60]
Baby Grumpy 6"/6½" Highly appealing - most peoples favourite [from £50]
[Sizes are approximate]
